Dutch truck toll launched on 1 July 2026

The kilometre charge requires a reliable connection between vehicle data, routes, costing and invoicing.

Connect toll charges with vehicles and journeys

A kilometre-based truck levy changes how vehicle characteristics and routes affect costs. Check that toll-provider registrations match the vehicles actually used and that charges reach both the accounts and journey profitability reports.

Check contracts before passing costs on

An extra cost cannot automatically be added to every customer invoice. Fixed prices and surcharge clauses determine the available options. Compare any recovery method with actual routes, empty kilometres and trips that are not separately invoiced.

Compare total journey costs, not toll alone

Reconcile the first statement with journey dates, vehicles and routes, including costs invoiced later. A route with lower toll may require more driving time or fuel and reduce capacity for the next delivery. Vehicle purchases or leases also require a longer comparison of financing, energy, maintenance and residual value, separating temporary support from recurring assumptions.
